Everything was set up: a film loaded, the vintage camera placed on a tripod, and the black background pinned to the furniture. The time was flying. The sun was rapidly moving down to the horizon. The natural light was fading. My tension was rising, but I tried hard not to disclose it. Finally, she showed up on the bathroom doorstep. I lifted my eyebrow, surprised. It was a fantastic scene. “I dug up this suit in a second-hand store. So, shall we start or what?”

And that’s how it all started. It was the beginning of my three-year journey. I came to someone’s home, we had some coffee or wine, exchanged stories, and people were posing in front of my camera — one model, two, and sometimes even three. Each time, I was thrilled by the chance to discover a new world, people with their emotions, things they are proud of, and things they wish to hide. But sometimes, they couldn’t. Driven by curiosity, I continued my studies, which were so hard to be finished once and for all. And here they are, the intimate portraits of the young Ukrainian generation, so similar and so different at the same time.
